Cosa offriamo

Gli Archimedi is a string trio formed in 2015. They have forged their identity through experimentation and by creating a unique musical ensemble consisting of cello, violin and double bass. The three instruments share the common background of classical music, but compositions destined to such an ensemble are rather rare. On the other hand, the violin and the double bass are versatile instruments encompassing a wide range of musical styles, from classical to jazz and folk. Thanks to this

peculiarity, the group has maintained the typical features of a chamber music combination made up of three musical elements, but at the same time it has de-voted itself to musical experimentation of pieces drawn from the classical repertoire as well as from the jazz and folk traditions.
The same name of the band, Gli Archimedi, derives from a play on words, where Archimedes is a sort of allegory of creativity and the first part of the name clearly reminds of the strings (archi). In this way, the string trio declare their raison d’être: the search for new sounds and aesthetic musical balance (or unbalance) by means of diverse musical languages.
Rather than falling in-between music genres, the trio's work is based on an attentive study of selected musical pieces, where the central idea is to re-interpret them, and hence create a unique and very personal style. Thus, the classical background of the trio assumes new tones thanks to the unusual ways in which the three musical instruments are combined. As a result, classical pieces acquire folk sounds, and jazz standards take on new facets, shaped by the acoustic sound of the three instruments that in turn improvise or accompany.

Diavolo Rosso di Asti, Le Baladin di Piozzo, il Teatro Civico di Vercelli e hanno partecipato a diverse rassegne e festivals musicali tra cui Alba Music Festival (Suoni dalle Colline di Langhe e Roero ed. 2016 e 2018), Ferrara Buskers Festival, Festival Monterosa Classica, Festival “Paese di Pietra”di Bergolo, Folkest di Spilimbergo (International Folk Festival, edizioni 2017 e 2018). Nel 2018 realizzano il loro primo album “Forvojagi” edito dall’etichetta New Model Label.
