Sylvie Klijn is a singer and composer. She holds master degrees from the Fontys Conservatory (NL) with a focus on composition, piano and singing, a master degree in Arts and Society at the University of Utrecht (NL) and a master degree in jazz voice & composition, which she obtained in Switzerland at the Haute École de Musique Lausanne.
She started her musical career as a classical pianist and has won prizes at several competitions, after which she was invited by the Dutch embassy in
Tunisia to give concerts. From the classical bachelor Sylvie has made the switch to jazz and pop music.
As a singer and composer, Sylvie is part of several projects based in Lausanne. This makes it easy to adjust the instrumentation according to your wishes regarding your event.
A duo piano/vocals or guitar/vocals, a trio where the duo possibilities are supplemented with a bassist or drummer, or a quartet are all possible options. The music style will be mainly jazz, but could be, according to your wishes, mixed with pop or Brazilian/latin music.
In Switzerland Sylvie has given concerts at the JazzOnze + festival, Antigel festival, NovaJazz festival and performed her own work on Swiss radio.
