Ubuhle be Afrika aims to promote & celebrate the unique diversified heritage & culture to the artistic & cultural life of South Africa. Our music, colourful languages, rhythms & beats, songs & dances.
Proudly celebrating our South Africa heritage Ubuhle be Afrika offers :
Zulu Dance, Xhosa Dance, Tswana Dance, Marimba Band, Drumming Display & workshops, Songs with Percussion & Poetry, team building & a One Hour Musical Theatre Production.
In addition, we also offer Dance,Music,Drumming workshops, Team Building, Face Paintings, Party Performances & School shows.
Ubuhle be Afrika regurlarly takes part in local festivals, corporate events & private functions as well as stage productions.
In 2004 Ubuhle be Afrika was invited by the South African Embassy to Bern, Switzerland (26 May – 2 June) to be part of the festivities to celebrate South Africa’s 10 years of Democracy. Sharing the stage with the likes of Bongo Maffin, Godessa & Johnny Clegg at Festi’Neuch Festival in Neuchatel.
In 2005, Ubuhle was again invited to Europe for 2 weeks by the South African Embassy to Helsinki, Finland in collaboration with the South African Embassy to Stockholm, Sweden to celebrate Heritage Month.
In 2010, Ubuhle working a Swiss based Agency (Plateau Libre) toured around Europe for 4 months (6 May – 30 August), perfroming in Russia, France, & around Switzerland at the Paleo Festival with Hugh Masekela, Ma-Hotella Queens, Johnny Clegg & Freshly Ground just to name a few.
In 2011, Ubuhle again toured Europe for 3 months (12 June – 02 September) performing in Italy & around Switzerland.
In 2016, Ubuhle toured Europe (Romania, Switzerland & France) for a month & was invited by the South African Embassy to Bucharest, Romania to perform a 16 June theatre production.
We are Original composers but can also do well known or familiar songs to our audience, eg In the Jungle tune from The Lion King.
